Alaska Native oral history speaks of Ilie through the annals of time, with recent reported sightings. To this day, Native kayakers will not look into the waters of Iliamna, for if you can see your reflection, Ili can see you. (Retrospective (1-26-08): Though the legend rings true, the creature in question is indeed an otter. A river otter to be exact. The vid only remains up for your entertainment and grins.)
